Artistic & Executive Director
Lisa founded Peppermint Muse (with more than a little help from her friends) after many years of dreaming about running a theatre company. She trained at Mountview, after a first degree in French and Spanish from Oxford University, and has a list of past jobs from many meanderings in the corporate world.
Lisa directed our productions of Altamont, Bash: Latterday Plays, Jigsaw and Cowboy Mouth and played the roles of Hamlet 2 (Hold off the Earth), Agnetha (Frozen), She (Death and Dancing) May (Fool for Love) and Solange (The Maids). Other acting credits include; Yelena, Uncle Vanya; Nora, A Doll’s House; Portia, The Merchant of Venice, and Mary Flynn in Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along.
She is currently exploring adaptations for future productions and wrote Lavender Junction, a one-woman show based on tape recordings of her grandmother's life. Lisa also runs marketing agency Fluent Ginger, working on diverse projects; from branding and website design to strategic consultancy.
John has directed, acted, and now written for the company (his one-man show Altamont is available to tour).
He directed Lavender Junction and Death and Dancing and played Claudius in our adaptation of Hamlet, Ralph in Frozen and Eddie in Fool for Love. John has a degree in Music Theatre and founded Harpenden Youth Theatre in 2006.
Other acting credits include: the award-winning title role of Kenny in The Colours of Kenny Roach, Dr Henry Jekyll/Mr Edward Hyde in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and Frank in Faith Healer.
John is also a compere, host and MC for live events working for the likes of Virgin Atlantic, BBC's Question Time and Sir Paul McCartney! His love of music is a huge influence and plays a big part in Altamont, which is inspired by real events at a 1960s festival.
Phil has been working in theatres for more years than he cares to admit. As a lighting designer/technician he has worked in a variety of venues from intimate studio theatres to large scale venues.
Lighting credits include Hold off the Earth, Frozen, Bash: Latterday Plays, Death and Dancing, Cowboy Mouth and Fool for Love for Peppermint Muse; Little India and Lola for the Trestle Theatre Company; Titania (world tour) and ill met by moon light for Moon Fool; Top Girls at Waterloo East; Les Belles Soeurs at the Arcola; Turn of the Screw, The Bread of Life, Improbable Fiction and Travels with my Aunt at the Pump House.
As well as being our technical genius, in his spare time Phil works as Theatre Technician at E15 Acting School.
Special thanks to the wonderful creative colleagues who’ve helped us along the way...
